How it works
What can people and their pets expect during the first visit?

During the initial visit to Advanced-Pets, your pet will be given time both to adjust to the environment and to allow them to become more familiar with Sean. We prioritize making your pet feel as comfortable as possible, ensuring both safety and the best possible outcome.

Will the pet need to be sedated?

Most pets do not require sedation. However, some pets that are anxious or aggressive may need a sedative, either provided by your vet or prescribed for home use, to help make the casting process safer and smoother.

What are the steps involved in fitting a pet for their new orthotic(s)?

During the first visit, your pet will be fitted for casting. The process typically includes:
  • Plaster mold creation: A custom mold is taken to ensure a perfect fit.
  • How it's created: A positive mold is formed under vacuum with a preheated thermoplastic sheet draped over it to guarantee a proper fit.
  • Trimming and adjustments: After being under vacuum for approximately one day, the mold is strategically trimmed to ensure optimal fit and motion.
  • Joint installation: Ankle or knee joints are added to ensure maximum movement and durability.
  • Straps and buckles: These are installed to secure the brace or prosthetic during use.

Are adjustments needed after the orthotic is made?

After regular use, some adjustments may be necessary. These could include padding, heating, or strap modifications. We ensure your pet’s comfort and the device’s functionality with each visit.

Do you also make pet prosthetics?
Yes! The process for prosthetics follows the same general steps as orthotics. However, we also take a tracing or photograph of the healthy limb to ensure the prosthetic is proportionate and properly aligned with the other side.

Are warranties offered? Yes, we offer a 90-day warranty on custom items, covering both manufacturing and durability.

Important Note: Pet parents are never charged an office or visit fee!
